Formation
Members of the Order of the Knights of the Southern Cross responded to the suggestion of the late Bishop Phillip Kennedy, a former member of the Order, made at the Plenary Conference of the Order held in Adelaide in 1978, that the Knights of the Southern Cross consider a program of Christian Formation for its members. These programs have run continuously since 1981.
In recent years, the Order has devoted its attention to matters which are of vital importance in the formation of a Catholic mind as we face the challenges of a society which has become very secular, anti-life and materialistic.
These programs are held in high regard. Each year we provide the program to the Catholic Women’s League in Australia and to our kindred Orders throughout the world. We are indebted to our National Chaplains for the excellent standard that has been maintained in the Formation Programs and for the considered and successful method they have offered for the use of them.
